The Samar State University Student Council (SSU-USC), an elected body of student leaders, operates under a mandate to represent and advocate for student interests, guided by the principles outlined in its Constitution and Bylaws.
As stated in Article 2, Section 4 of the SSU-USC Constitution, “The SSU-USC shall promote genuine concern for the students in an effort to attain their holistic development.”
Throughout the Academic Year 2023-2024, the council, under the leadership of outgoing President Joshua Ibajo, has undertaken various initiatives as part of their duties, aimed at enhancing student welfare and improving the academic experience.
With no opponents during the last election, the student community had a rare chance to truly hone in on the candidates’ individual advocacy and leadership. However, this brings forth a critical question: has this led to the progress we hoped for, or do you feel there have been missed opportunities? Your opinions matter, and it is essential to hear from you on this.
Now is an opportune time for you, Tradesmen, to reflect on whether you are satisfied with the council’s achievements and its effectiveness in representing their interests throughout the term.
