On Friday evening, Samar State University’s Gymnasium was awash in vibrant hues of green, blue, red, yellow, and pink as the Office of Student Welfare and Development Services (SWDS), the University Student Council (USC), and various student organizations from the main campus hosted the much-anticipated Freshmen Acquaintance Party.
Capping off a week-long series of orientation activities, freshmen from the College of Industrial Technology (CIT), College of Education (CoEd), College of Engineering (CoEng’g), College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), and College of Nursing and Health Sciences (CoNHS) came together for an evening of celebration, meeting both familiar and new faces from across the university.
In a brief interview, USC President Joshua Ibajo explained the event’s purpose, “…ginhimo namon ini nga event kay para getting to know han mga kabataan [from] iba-iba nga departments. Actually kasi nagkakamayda an acquaintance party by department, yana ginhimo namon pankabug-usan.”
