Samar State University’s College of Engineering (CoEng’g) secured a top-six position in the Skill Olympics 2024: Railway and Tunnel Design Competition, as announced on September 6.
Organized by Bentley Education, a program of the American-based software development company Bentley Systems, in collaboration with the Philippine Constructors Association (PCA) Inc., and Construction Manpower Development Foundation (CMDF), the intercollegiate tournament showcased the skills of 21 teams from various universities across the Philippines.
The SSU team, named “Samareño Builders,” composed of five civil engineering students mentored by Engr. Noel S. Palomas, is the first team to represent SSU in this competition.
The Skill Olympics was held online with several project phases running from June until November this year.
