Vying for the title of Queen SSU 2024, Candidate No. 8 Jayne Plasabas from the College of Nursing and Health Sciences (CoNHS) had the chance to share her heart and knowledge with the Tradesmen during the hashtag portion of the coronation night on Friday, May 17, at the SSU Gymnasium.
The hashtag round had the candidate give her take on a relevant hashtag randomly assigned to her for 30 seconds.
#ShortageOfWater
Answer: “I believe that it’s not here in Catbalogan only experiencing shortage of water, I believe it’s the entire Philippines experiencing [it]. And I believe that the reason behind this is our doings towards the environment. It is an adverse effect that reflects to us. That’s why as an advocate of environmental protection since 2021, I am encouraging everyone to plant trees, recycle, reuse, as my advocacy also is about sustainable fashion. By these small solutions, by these small doings, we can have macro effects not just in this institution, not just in this Catbalogan, but in the entire world.”
