Vying for the title of Queen SSU 2024, Candidate No. 6 Maeve Hernandez from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) had the chance to share her heart and knowledge with the Tradesmen during the hashtag portion of the coronation night on Friday, May 17, at the SSU Gymnasium.
The hashtag round had the candidate give her take on a relevant hashtag randomly assigned to her for 30 seconds.
#EqualityandEquity
Answer: “So, equality and equity that we need from education, equality that we need from education [and] healthcare. It’s very important that we have equality when it comes to education because after all, we are all the same. Together with the healthcare, we need the same access, no matter what status you have in your life because we can feel heard, we can feel [validated] by someone. And that is how [we are] supposed to be; a quality of education, and a quality of healthcare that we are looking for here in the Philippines.”
