Black Saturday is the final day of Holy Week and commemorates the time that Jesus Christ’s body laid in the tomb after his crucifixion on Good Friday.
It is marked by a period of solemnity and quiet reflection to remember the sacrifice Jesus made for our sins and to contemplate the meaning of his death and resurrection. It includes the lighting of the Paschal candle, the blessing of the Easter fire and water, and the celebration of the Easter Vigil.
As we prepare our hearts to rejoice in the resurrection, may this day of reflection deepen our faith and strengthen our hope.
While waiting for the promise of Easter, what brings you hope today?
