Kumusta ang inyong puso, Tradesmen? ❤️🩹
Make sure to keep your heart happy and healthy this February, as per Proclamation No. 1096, s. 1973 declares Philippine Heart Month.
As per the World Health Organization (WHO), 620 million people suffer from heart and cardiovascular diseases, and it accounts for 17.9 million global mortality every year, four out of five of which occur in low- and middle-income countries. Bringing attention to the local context, ischemic heart diseases accounted for 18.3% of the total mortality in the country in 2022 alone, as reported by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). This means that the prevalence in which it occurs varies for many reasons, and understanding the risk factors in each context is necessary in tailoring programs to address them.
This February, puso mo ang piliin! Take steps to keep yourself away from any heart problems by understanding your risks, adopting an accessible healthy eating habit, and staying physically active. Make sure to put your heart first this Philippine Heart Month, Tradesmen!
