“Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they have the heart.” – Elizabeth Andrew
In 1998, the Philippine government declared the month of December as the National Volunteer Month through Presidential Proclamation No. 55. This month, we honor the spirit of generosity and selflessness that shines within our community. National Volunteer Month is a time to appreciate the contributions of volunteers who dedicate their, expertise, skills, talents and compassion to making a positive difference in the world.
During National Volunteer Month, we honor the people who voluntarily offer their time and skills to causes that matter. Their dedication and commitment to service is a reminder that each act of kindness, no matter how miniscule, has the power to transform communities and make lasting changes in lives.
December is also a time to empower and encourage others to get involved and be apart in giving back. We can also be a part of various causes and initiatives that we think matters and affect a lot of people. We may not always have the time or money to give out, but we always have the heart to help those in need.
Together, we can change the world, one act of volunteerism at a time.
