Ensuing the theme of unifying the College of Industrial Technology community, students from the college convened to conclude the three-day Karahibot with an Acquaintance Party, November 24 at the SSU Maceda Gymnasium.
The said event was graced by the presence of the CIT Dean Ronnie Velasco, faculty members, and students from the said college.
In her opening statement, CIT Provincial Gov. Sunshine Cruz emphasized the significance of CIT Days, envisioning them as a platform for “new, old, returning, and transferee students to get to know one another, in order to adopt to their environment, build camaraderie, and enhance smooth interpersonal relationship among peers and instructors.”
A noteworthy moment during the event was the formal introduction and oath-taking of the newly elected CIT-Supreme Student Council and Barangay Officers, led by Dean Ronnie T. Velasco.
In his motivational address, the Dean mentioned the challenges of underestimation faced by the college, highlighting the essential role of CIT programs as they “provide services to the different sectors of development.”
Looking ahead, he shared plans for the future of the college, urging students to join him on this journey, stating, “with your cooperation and active commitment, we can do the impossible.”
Adding to the night’s highlights was the awarding ceremony for achievements in the preceding days’ Sports Fest, Laro ng Lahi, and Cultural Competition.
Unit II, represented by the Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology (BSIT), clinched the coveted overall champion title.
They excelled in the Laro ng Lahi Category with victories in Sack Rice, Kuradang, and Kalamansi Relay, while also triumphing in the Cultural Presentation Category’s Cheerdance and Hiphop, as well as the Sports Category’s Volleyball Men, Takraw Men, Takraw Women, Futsal, Badminton Men, and Badminton Women.
Meanwhile, securing the 1st place in the overall Karahibot was Unit I, home to the Bachelor of Science in Architecture (BSArch). They shone in the Laro ng Lahi Category with wins in Pinoy Henyo, Putukan Na, and Slipper Box, along with victories in the Cultural Presentation Category’s Vocal Solo and the Sports Category’s Volleyball Women.
In a commendable 2nd place position was Unit III, comprised of programs like Bachelor of Mechanical Technology and Entrepreneurship (BMTE), Bachelor of Industrial Technology and Entrepreneurship (BITE), Bachelor of Technology (BT), and Competency-Based Vocational Education (CBVE). They secured awards in the Sports Category’s Basketball, with Tyrone Anoche from BT earning the coveted Most Valuable Player of the Game.
As the event approached its conclusion, representatives from various programs of the college had a spectacular showcase of talents in their intermission numbers, infusing vibrancy and a significant atmosphere into the night.
