Acknowledging the Overworked, Justice for the Underpaid
Despite of this generation’s advancement, people who are living under and suffering from severe poverty remains rampant.
With the theme “Decent Work and Social Protection: Putting dignity in practice for all,” this year’s International Day for the Eradication of Poverty aims to promote a conversation and understanding between individuals affected by poverty and the wider society. It emphasizes that those who are vulnerably trapped by the crisis work on long, grueling hours in unregulated conditions and still is unable to adequately support themselves and their families due to small income.
Together, we call for universal access to decent work and social protection to uphold human dignity, provide fair wages and safe working conditions, and acknowledge the inherent worth of all workers.
Let us establish an equitable and just economy where no one is left behind.
