Our minds, our rights.
World Mental Health Day is on October 10th, when attention is focused on one of the aspects of a broader spectrum of overall well-being, mental health. Deserving of equal attention, this year’s theme “Mental health is a universal human right,” proposes that every individual bear relevant support and services as their basic human right.
According to the World Health Organization, one in eight people grapples with a mental health condition. Along with that, suffering from one is a consequent face with stigma and differentiation, among others. In the local context, more Filipinos continue to struggle with the inaccessibility of mental health-related support and services. Therefore, on this day of observation, let’s all take a moment to prioritize not only our mental health but also that of others. By taking self-care measures and advocating for mental well-being beyond ourselves, we can create a more inclusive and supportive environment that is essential for everyone’s mental health.
Be the reason someone feels they matter today.
