Black Saturday, also recognized as Holy Saturday, remembers Jesus Christ’s time in the tomb before his resurrection on Easter Sunday.
Today commemorates how His disciples held him outside his tomb, waiting for him to be resurrected. The color’s significance in mourning is indicated by the word “black” in Black Saturday.
Black Saturday is also acknowledged as one of the Catholic people’s most cherished traditions.
