1 out of 9 days done! Do you have a wish to be fulfilled once you complete the simbang gabi?
Simbang Gabi is a devotional, nine-day series of Masses that begins on the 16th of December and ends on the 24th and is attended by Filipino Catholics in anticipation of Christmas. It is similar to the nine dawn Masses leading to Christmas Eve practiced in Puerto Rico called Misa de Aguinaldo. It is the spiritual preparation for Christmas, in commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. For many, observing Simbang Gabi is a way of offering sacrifice and requesting blessings from the Lord, as they believe that if one completes nine dawn masses, their wishes will be granted.
This festive tradition awakens the faith and rekindles the Christmas spirit within. Be sure to complete the 9-day mass and don’t forget the bibingka.
Happy Holidays!
