After a week’s hiatus due to Tropical Storm Kristine, the SSU Gymnasium was once again filled with cheers of excitement as the Men’s Basketball Tournament made its comeback on the court in the SSU Palaro 2024.
As the afternoon period began, the battle between SSU-Paranas Campus and the College of Engineering resulted in a nail-biting clash, with SSU-PC edging CoEng’g in a down-to-the-wire game to record their first win, 63-56.
Afterward, the College of Industrial Technology and the College of Arts and Sciences engaged in a fierce exchange of towering offensive setups. However, as the second half started, CIT managed to snatch the momentum of the game and orchestrated the rhythm, securing their second win with a score of 71-56.
Following two tightly fought games, SSU-Mercedes Campus dominated the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, achieving a formidable 85-point lead. This performance allowed SSU-MC to take their first win, finishing the game at 111-26.
To close out the day, CoEng’g bounced back from their loss against SSU-PC, taking down the College of Education in a masterclass performance. Players from Engineering made it rain threes, defeating CoEd with a final score of 83-51 and securing a 2-1 standing.
