After a shocking first-round loss to the College of Education (CoEd), the College of Industrial Technology (CIT) roared back and displayed a relentless counterattack, defending their twice-to-beat advantage to snatch the Women’s Sepak Takraw championship at the SSU Palaro 2024, October 29.
In the initial match, CoEd threatened an upset which stunned CIT with a hard-fought 2-1 victory, showcasing killer spikes and lightning-fast reflexes that dismantled CIT’s defense and resulted in set scores of 15-6, 9-15, and 10-15.
However, with their twice-to-beat cushion, CIT was far from finished as they rallied with renewed intensity and tore through CoEd’s defenses in a deciding showdown.
With their title on the line, CIT fired back with a powerhouse offense, pinning CoEd in the first set, 15-10. Fueled by their comeback momentum, CIT overpowered CoEd in the second set, claiming the final showdown 15-8.
CIT sealed the victory with a commanding 2-0 sweep, leaving no room for CoEd to mount a counterattack and affirming their dominance on the court.
