Aimed to build the capabilities of university students in public presentation and further enhance project reports for off-campus research dissemination and promotion activities, this year’s FILIPINNOVATE: Student Research and Development Congress came about at Samar State University on Thursday, June 13.
Both undergraduate and graduate students congregated at the Research and Innovation Center (RIC) Audiovisual Room for the opening program.
Shortly after, the plenary presentations for both oral and poster took place at the College of Engineering (CoEng’g) Smart Laboratory and College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Chemistry Laboratory and Physics Laboratory, divided according to their respective strands.
Studies on Computing/Data Analytics, Engineering and Architectural Innovations, Science and Technology, Agriculture and Fisheries, and Disaster and Risk Reduction were categorized under Strand 1 Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Strand 2 Social and Humanitarian Responsibility was composed of studies on Medical and Health Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, Digital Literacy and Education, Environmental Sciences and Stewardship, and Ethics and Government Policies.
Day 2 of the said research congress will commence on Friday, June 14, including the awarding and closing ceremonies.
Themed “Smart Projects for Smarter Future,” FILIPINNOVATE 2024 is an event initiated by the Office of Research and Extension Services (OPRE) with this year’s host centers: Samar Island GIS and Data Analytics Center (SIGISDAC), Environmental Sustainability Research and Development Center (ESRDC), and Center for Eastern Visayas Center for Crustacean Research and Development (EVCCRD).
