Samar State University (SSU) achieved another feat as it successfully produced a new topnotcher in the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET), following the release of March 2024 LET results, May 24.
Maria Sharalene M. Lamoste, a Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Science alumna of the College of Education (CoEd), ranked tenth in the secondary level of the said board exam with 90.80% rating.
Meanwhile, a total of 325 SSU graduates constitute the fresh batch of the newly licensed professional teachers.
With 119 out of 178 SSU-produced takers passing the elementary teacher exam and 206 out of 333 succeeding in the secondary level, the university logged passing rates of 66.85% and 61.86% respectively, surpassing the 46.67% for elementary and 58.78% for secondary level national success rates.
For first-time takers, SSU boasted remarkable success rates of 87.50% for elementary level and 89.39% secondary level, reaffirming its goal of producing highly competent 21st century teachers.
According to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), 20,890 elementary teachers out of 44,764 examinees and 50,539 secondary teachers out of 85,980 examinees nationwide successfully hurdled the March 2024 LET.
