The quest for the Queen of Samar State University is underway as the SSU Student Council (USC) organized a pre-pageant segment at the CAS-AVC this afternoon, March 14.
Through an advocacy video and a three-minute live presentation, each candidate showcased their plans and programs advocating for their chosen cause, which included environmental sustainability, gender inclusivity, gender identity education, mental health awareness, and sustainable fashion practices.
Subsequently, the aspirants faced an exclusive panel interview with College of Nursing and Health Sciences clinical instructor and SSU Advocacy on Gender and Women Advancement for National Development (SAGWAN) Director Charmaine Quiña, Miss Manaragat 2020 and Mutya han Calbiga 2023 Ralphmarie Therese Villota, and SSU Miss Gay University 2014 third runner-up and Catbalogan City Population and Youth Development Office staff Angel Diocton for a series of questions about their backgrounds and advocacies.
The USC confirmed earlier that the coronation night for Queen SSU will be on Friday, May 17, at the SSU Gymnasium.
