“Laughter comes right after breathing as just about the healthiest thing you can do.”
As the Humor Consultant and Psychologist Izzy Gesell said while inviting the whole world to join in this day and do some fun activities dated 1997. Since then, this day is celebrated as the International Moment of Laughter Day, which purpose is to motivate people to find positivity in life.
There are ways to celebrate International Moment of Laughter Day such as:
- Laughing out loud. Can’t find a reason to? That’s okay, simply go to a store and look at some funny greeting cards or watch a comedy movie and you will probably burst into laughter in no time.
- Spreading laughter. It is always rewarding to put a big smile on someone’s face. You can make someone laugh by sharing a funny incident or maybe a few good jokes. Just make sure those jokes are not below the belt.
- Creating awareness. Make this topic known by sharing it on social media. Share your favorite jokes and comedy shows through posts. Make people aware of the benefits of laughter as it lowers stress hormones to noticeable levels. Therefore, laughing can actually help to overcome stressful situations and anxiety by decreasing cortisol and epinephrine levels.
So, smile, laugh, and live life!
