CHED Secretary Dr. J. Prospero “Popoy” de Vera III, in his message at FUN-Huruhimangraw, a meet-and-greet session, conveyed his delight in “coming home” to SSU to meet the personnel promoted and hired through ROSSS and the faculty of Samar Island Institute of Medicine.
“I was not yet the chairman when the first version of ROSSS was sent to the commission for comments. The commission supported it every time it was brought to Congress because we really need to upgrade our manpower in our state universities and colleges. So finally, may ROSSS na, finally, you’re here. We have recruited the best of the best,” he said.
Chairperson de Vera also emphasized that “public office is a public trust, and all public officials and employees must at all times be accountable to all people” as a very serious requirement for public office.
