It’s Liver-lover, boy!
Liver cancer is the sixth most frequently diagnosed cancer as of 2018, worldwide. In the Philippines, Liver cancer ranks as 4th leading cancer type and ranks 2nd in cancers that lead to mortality among Filipinos as of 2020.
This January, we are observing Liver Cancer and Viral Hepatitis and Prevention Month as an initiative to raise awareness about liver cancer and viral hepatitis, including their causes, prevention, and available treatments.
This month is dedicated to educating the public about the risk factors, symptoms, and complications associated with liver cancer and viral hepatitis. This includes raising awareness about the importance of vaccination against hepatitis B, a key preventive measure.
Liver Cancer and Viral Hepatitis and Prevention Month aims to provide support and resources for individuals affected by liver cancer or viral hepatitis, including access to healthcare services, treatment options, and support groups. We encourage individuals at risk to get tested for hepatitis B and C to ensure early diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
Early detection can significantly improve the outcomes for liver cancer and viral hepatitis. Consult with a healthcare professional or reach out to relevant organizations.
