In their second year of partnership with Samar State University in raising awareness about various threats in cyberspace, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Regional Office VIII, continues its Cybersecurity Campaign – the Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI) Awareness Program at the CAS Academic Building Audiovisual Center.
Director Felix Tabanao, Jr. of the DICT Regional Office VIII emphasized the relevance of shared efforts in combating rampant cybersecurity threats.
“With each passing day, new threats emerge and it is our collective responsibility to stay one step ahead. Today, we ignite not only as professionals but as a community dedicated to fortifying the foundations of a secure and resilient cyberspace,” he said.
Topics such as cybersecurity, including common cyber threats and practical tips on how to stay cyber-safe, the PNPKI; the advantages it offers in protecting digital information, the legal aspects related to its use, and how it plays a crucial role in strengthening cybersecurity, Data Privacy; rights of a data subject and data privacy violations are expected to be covered in the training session.
This event is attended by students from the SSU Information Technology program, College of Engineering, and from other universities and colleges in Catbalogan City.
