In continuation of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC), Samar State University’s Advocacy on Gender and Women and National Advancement (SAGWAN), together with the Samar State University – Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (SSU-DRRMO), holds an orientation on Disaster Risk Reduction Management (Gender Responsive Disaster Risk Reduction Management) at the NCAS-AVC.
This seminar is attended by several university organizations and Provincial Government officers, equipping them to be more prepared and resilient when disaster occurs.
“Together, we can amplify our collective efforts and pave way for a more inclusive and effective approach to disaster preparedness,” SAGWAN Chairperson Charmaine Quiña said, emphasizing the importance of engaging in discussions on disaster preparedness with regards to gender inclusivity.
The 18-day campaign was launched yesterday, November 28, 2023 and these initiatives will continue until December 12, under the theme “United for a VAW-free Philippines.”
