Samar State University Deer stepped onto the EVCAA hardwood once again after a month-long hiatus, this time showing their elevated style of basketball as they bested the Northwest Samar State University Lions, 94 – 78, in the Eastern Visayas Collegiate Athletic Association basketball tournament held at the Tacloban City Astrodome, earlier this afternoon.
Despite the team’s long break from the EVCAA stage, AJ Tolipas showed no rust in his joints as he put up 26 points, 8 boards, and 10 dimes, leading the Dexterous Deer to a 16-point victory, and earning his second Player of the Game award of the tournament.
