We Innovate. We Build. We Serve.
These words echoed with greater emphasis on every turn at the General Orientation held at the Samar State University Gymnasium on September 11, 2023.
Spearheaded by the Office of the Student Welfare and Development Services (SWDS), this event opened the orientation week for all the freshmen, transferees, shiftees, and returning students of the different colleges of SSU Main Campus which is estimated to be the biggest turnout since the pandemic.
In her inspirational message, SSU President Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso proudly proclaimed the university’s achievements and challenged the freshies.
“Our ratings are our accountabilities, accountability ito, diri la naton ito gin e-enjoy la but we have to live up to the standards set by these different awards. Hence, now that you are already part of the transformative university that is committed to technology innovation and service excellence, together let us achieve more and let us join hand-in-hand towards a better future,” Dr. Cardoso said.
Meanwhile, Karylle Yanson Potot of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences was awarded top performer among all the first-year students who took the university admission tests for Academic Year 2023-2024.
The orientation week is said to last until Saturday with the different colleges and campuses initiating their respective orientations.
