Tourism and Green investments. World Tourism Day, observed on every 27th of September beginning in 1980, stemmed from the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) adopting its Statutes on the same date in 1970, laying the foundation for its establishment five years later. This year’s theme, “Tourism and Green Investments,” underscores the importance of tourism in society, with a focus on promoting economic stability while advocating for sustainable tourism.
Furthermore, tourism is a major economic booster, and as per the United Nations, it plays a crucial role in providing livelihoods to one out of every ten individuals globally. Thus, this year’s observance centers around people as the core of tourism recovery, calling upon all relevant stakeholders to unite and support a fresh tourism strategy, moving around targeted tourism investments, innovation, and educational initiatives.
Together, towards inclusive and sustainable development for both humanity and the planet.
