Samar State University Chorale, led by Prof. Bliss Gara, harmonized their way to success as they earned a well-deserved place among the top 3 finalists in the recently conducted Regional ASEAN Celebration anchored with the theme “ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth” held at Doña Remedios Trinidad Romualdez Medical Foundation Gymnasium, Tacloban City, Leyte on August 18, Friday.
Emerging from a pool of nine competing schools, Samar State University stood out together with Southern Leyte State University and Leyte Normal University forming a remarkable triumvirate.
However, the narrative is yet to be completed. SSU Chorale still has to orchestrate their way to triumph as they prepare to embrace a greater challenge on August 30th— a battle that holds the promise of a championship.
“They’re practicing their songs every day, making sure their harmonies sound amazing… They’re also listening very closely to the recorded accompaniment of their chosen piece, Tagumpay Nating Lahat, to ensure they can follow more accurately the pacing of the song,” said Prof. Gara.
“With all this practice and preparation, the SSU Chorale is excited and ready to give an incredible performance on August 30th,” she added.
Meanwhile, other commemorative contests also include essay writing, poster making, dance sport, and spoken word [poetry] where anticipation rests on the announcement of results on the 30th of the month.
Congratulations and good luck, SSU Chorale! Whatever happens, remember that you have already achieved greatness in our eyes.
