“Journalism can never be silent: that is its greatest virtue and its greatest fault. It must speak, and speak immediately, while the echoes of wonder, the claims of triumph, and the signs of horror are still in the air.” – Henry Anatole Grunwald
The Tradesman, the Official Student Publication of Samar State University, is proud to host a two-day seminar-workshop that aims to empower young journalists and revitalize campus journalism. With the theme “Revitalizing Campus Journalism: Developing Effective Student Journalists for Challenges and Opportunities,” this event will take place on March 3–4, 2023, at the SSU Convention Center Main Campus and is open to campus journalists from secondary and tertiary schools.
By equipping our young journalists with essential skills and knowledge, we hope to empower them to become responsible and effective communicators of the truth. We believe that education and training are key to promoting accurate and reliable information and nurturing a new generation of journalists who embody the values of responsibility, integrity, and critical thinking.
Through engaging talks and interactive workshops led by our dynamic resource speakers, we hope to cultivate a new breed of journalists who are not only proficient in their craft but also passionate about using their skills to contribute to the betterment of society.
Join us as we work towards creating a thriving and responsible journalism culture in our community.
