SAMAR STATE UNIVERSITY — College of Engineering launched the three-day Greek Mythology-themed Engineering Feast held at CoEng’g Grounds on November 16, Wednesday.
College Dean Engr. Meddy S. Mangaring, Associate Dean Engr. Adrian U. Gadin, instructors and students graced the event as they partook with the annual commencement of the said affair.
CoEng’g students were equally separated into four competing teams: Athena, Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus which will face off in different sports and academic activities.
Association Dean Engr. Gadin in his opening remarks, acknowledged and congratulated the various organization presidents for their meritorious initiative in hosting the said occasion.
“Through this activity, you are able to showcase the core values which we need to develop in you: leadership, excellence, discipline, and service,” Engr. Gadin stated.
“Please be reminded that learning doesn’t come from the four corners of the classroom alone,” he added.
Moreover, the said teams also raced for the Banner Raising, Chant and Yell, and the Team Showdown. The Torch Relay was illuminated by the different organization presidents namely: Arvin A. Dacut Jr., PICE President, Jhon Carlo V. Ladipe, IECEP President, Mark Anthony V. Calipayan, Delta Epsilon (Society of would-be Engineers) President, Prince Reynold S. Nabablit, IIEE President, Irish Egie W. Arao, ICPEP President, and Allean Vince F. Chua, CoEng’g Provincial Governor.
CoEng’g Dean Engr. Mangaring encouraged the students to participate in the annual event of the department in his closing remarks.
“We, your mentors, whatever activities you will be in, we hope that this could bring a positive impact on both your academic and non-academic aspect,” Engr. Mangaring uttered.
Meanwhile, sports and academic activities followed in the afternoon showcasing the talents and wit of the CoEng’g students.
