Glamorous. Magnificent. Radiant.
This is how the night of October 27th appeared as the College of Arts and Sciences faculty and students graced the CASrisyohan: Acquaintance Party 2022 held at SSU Maceda Gymnasium.
To conclude the two-day cultural and sports activities, the most awaited event in all colleges and universities was realized through the initiative of the newly elected Provincial Officers.
Present in the event were the University President Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso, CAS Dean Dr. Florabelle B. Patosa, Associate Dean Dr. Maryjes Calades, SWDS Director Dr. Mae V. Cañal, and the rest of the CAS and SWDS faculty and staff.
In her opening remarks, CAS Dean Patosa expressed her warm congratulations to the committees for a successful event and urges everyone to enjoy, celebrate, and “color the night and shine brightly through showing our beautiful faces”.
Meanwhile, University President Cardoso, took pride and flexed the schools’ achievements as she encouraged the students to know and be well-informed about the university’s accomplishment throughout the years in her inspirational message.
“There is more that you need to know about Samar State University, and aside from this acquaintance party, we should also get acquainted with our university… you need to know your alma mater,” said Cardoso.
Moreover, the newly elected Provincial Officers swore their oaths of office with University President Cardoso acting as the inducting officer. The Barangay Officers, however, were led by CAS Associate Dean Calades.
Various production numbers were also showcased by the department’s talented students through dance presentations, song performances, and spoken poetry.
Winners from the cultural and sports activities were acknowledged and awarded with medals as a token of recognition. Team Gray chanted in victory as they were declared as the overall winner of the recently concluded activity.
On the other hand, Francis Ryan Parilla from Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and Amber Casas from Bachelor of Science in Psychology were hailed as the Stars of the Night.
